Objective

Currently, wireless telecom carriers are being represented by several groups to the utility service providers. Primarily among them are the different architectural/engineering firms (A&E), the various construction companies and the carriers’ own construction managers and coordinators. Because of this, the utility companies are inundated with many inquiries from many different individuals as to the status of design, application, and meter set schedule. It has been our experience that the utility company does not have the staffing required to respond to all questions and process the needed designs in a prompt manner to meet an aggressive build schedule.

Initial walks are being conducted by A&E firms and construction managers who may not have the expertise to design and locate adequate power and identify if easements are needed. This can cause delays in obtaining meters and can prove costly to the overall build of the project in the renting of generators, delaying on-air dates, and possibly renegotiating with property owners.

Through strategic alliances with power and telephone service providers, Utility Network Solutions, Inc. (UNS) has come to the forefront in the wireless telecom industry. It is our purpose to streamline the utility process by being the single point of contact between carrier and utility company and therefore expedite the solution for permanent power and telco. Our goal is to take ownership of a project for our client from beginning to final meter set and T-I energizing.
